A good book or two
I loved this, A work of fiction set in the historical fact, gathering words for the first Oxford English Dictionary, and in, what I felt was a subtly understated way, looking at the inequality of language from a feminist perspective.
The other book I loved was The Island of Missing Trees, by Élif Sharif, an amazing author. Set in a divided Cyprus of the 1970’s, a key narrator is the ancient fig tree who gives voice to the impact on the natural world
