And so it starts

We are replacing our 'mini conservatory', which is about 3m x 1.5m with a larger 4m x 3.5. Before the men arrived to start cutting around the shape of the new base a Jewson truck arrived with 3 huge bags of sand, a number of insulation blocks (the silver things), and a pallet of cement bags.
The Hungarian chap, that was driving the truck, very skilfully reversed around the tricky bend so he could get close enough to crane the bags and pallet off onto our drive.
The blocks of insulation we handled off between us. It was a bit heavy but more-so it was difficult to get a hold on the wet plastic covering. We managed it though.
Ruby and Eric were fascinated by it all.
The builder men turned up and then soon afterwards another truck with a load of bricks.
They won't be back until Monday because they have to get a small excavator to do the digging, whatever happened to good old shovels and spades HAHAHAHAHAHAHA It's something to do with building regulations, I really don't understand it all.
Anyway, why are we going bigger? When we had the small one put in it was so we could extend the table to its maximum, plus use the boards at Christmas, Easter, and other very special occasions. It would just give us a bit more room to accommodate the 2 grandchildren we had. Since then, pre and during, lockdowns we grew to be 8 grandchildren, and they are now getting bigger so can sit at the table rather than high-chairs. A bigger conservatory seems to be the best solution, to be used as a dining room, with the current dining room becoming a play area cum sitting room extension. We already have a settee in there. It will have a solid roof, hence the building regs, I think, and two sets of doors.
Progress will, of course, be blipped.
