The oldest….

surviving metal bridge in Scotland, this Telford bridge was built in 1812. It was previously the main road! A fitting decoration for it today was the autumnal glory.
This morning, sitting in the almost light garden with coffee, was amazed to see a dark shape feeding at the squirrel box. Thinking it was a cat , I headed across, delighted to see a Pine Martin. When I went in , it came back and spent another ten minutes eating! I watched its progress through hedgerows and it disturbed some Bats that were roosting in the Pine!
Great to see! Yes, I know they eat squirrels and birds ,but my peanuts may have gone some way to appeasing it’s hunger!
