Wimereux, France

If you follow blipper Nettenet, you will already know that she has recently been on holiday in Northern France. 

Last week, on Friday 21st October, Nettenet asked her travelling companions if they would mind making an unscheduled stop in Wimereux 'to try and grab some pictures for hazelh for her LornaLPodcast journal'. Her wish was granted and here is the picture that we have selected for the journal. It's of Wimereux town hall (the mairie). Thank you Nettenet and friends!

Nettenet also says in her own blipfoto entry for last Friday 'J said please thank your fellow blipper as we would probably have not stopped here. It's amazing the thing you find or do for this great site'. 

We can't help wondering what Lorna Lloyd would have made of all this. When she wrote the name of a small town in France in her diary on December 5th 1940, she couldn't have possibly imagined that 82 years later a member of a photo sharing web site would make a small modification to her holiday plans to visit the town and take a photograph to contribute to an online photograph album curated by her (Lorna's) great-nephew's wife!

Lorna would also be astonished to learn that her great-great niece plays her in our podcast series of the Diary of the war. The mention of Wimereux is in Episode 7.

We should say that we are not asking blippers to change their holiday plans for us!
