Athens of the North

Edinburgh, the “Athens of the North” looked spectacularly beautiful today with plenty of tourists around. 
 
But we spent most of it catching up with current exhibitions especially the Impressionist exhibition at the Royal Academy.
 
The discovery of a Van Gogh self-portrait on the back of a canvas, discovered by conservationists during a routine x-ray of the painting is the star attraction. (See extra).
