The never-ending day...
This day went on forever - the kids and I had 12 hours at school. Plus I'd had 4 hours sleep the night before as Nate hadn't been well (though woke ok and wanting to go on his trip to the forest with his class). 2 other mums and me were preparing the school party for the afternoon, plus workshops for the kids to do. Asha was leading a jewellery one, I was doing and arty one... The entire day was very full on. We got home so so late, the 45 min walk home felt very long! BUT the party was a success and all the kids seemed to have a blast. Taking it all apart and tidying up afterwards felt tiring!! The usual issue of too few people offering to help, so the 3 of us had a lot of work on our hands!
Today I'm grateful for;
1) Having Calpol in my bag and being able to sneak Nate some when he arrived back from the forest...he wasn't as recovered as we'd thought in the morning.
2) Bonding more with the other 2 moms.
3) Falling into bed.
There was a lot more to be grateful for too; the school kids all having fun, Asha working so so hard and being gracious about not being able to do any of the activities as there was no-one to take over her workshop, Asha's friend Charlie (from a different school) coming to be her wingman, Cally being at home when we got back etc etc...
