Home grass!

Day for coming home.
Packing, long journey, unpack,
washing, cooking, walks.

Very busy today, all packed up, tidied and ready to leave by 10am.  Ben had woken in the night but was really good about being awake, he hadn't mithered me and he was so settled that he did eventually fall back to sleep, it felt like a real change to his behaviour, let's hope that continues!!  Journey was a bit long and stressful but we were home by about 1pm.  Lots of unpacking, putting things in their place and washing (so much washing).  Ben decided he wanted to go to the lake, which means he wants cookies.  This meant we had to make cookies :-/ We started the process before realising we didn't have butter.  A basic error but broadly understandable given we've been away.  We walked to the local shop (less than 5 mins) to find they had run out too so we had to walk on to the Tesco express which is a bit of a longer trek.  I was getting stressed because I knew we still had to get home, bake the cookies, cool them a bit and then drive to the lake and be home for tea which I hadn't made yet.  Ben was just happy though.  Merrily playing the 'Blue Ford Focus' game, undeterred by never catching one.  I tried to chill out and when we got home I made the cookies and quickly did a tuna pasta bake whilst the cookies were baking.  We made it to the lake by about 4:30 and had a quick loop, sun was low but still shining and I thought this grass looked nice.  Home for tea and sorting out the washing.  I had a bit of a whinge about how hectic the day had been and Mr KCNQ2Haiku produced some new perfume for me that I had mentioned in passing a few days ago.  He said he'd appreciated everything I had done this week.  He's very sweet and we have now also ordered a take away :-D Satisfying end to the week away.
