Roots
A day out in Loughrea, sorting out stuff.
A trip to the GP - I'd made the appointment to arrange for a prescription for my medication, but have been suffering with a blocked ear, which wasn't going away with olive oil. So I asked her to have a look. GPs in the UK won't syringe ears, so I was expecting to be directed to make an appointment at Specsavers or similar. But she syringed it clear! First time in ages my hearing hasn't been muffled!
Then we called in to the bank to open a savings account - couldn't do it there and then, but we have an appointment for next week.
And then into the Vodafone shop. We had bought new phones, and got PAYG SIM cards back in July, but found it rather annoying when the month ran out without notice and suddenly you needed to get more credit. So today we upgraded to SIM only contracts. A bit more expensive, but less hassle.
And then we visited the pharmacy to collect medications, and tracked down the Roots cafe, hiding in the corner of a furniture shop, where we had a cuppa whilst waiting for them to put together the medication W needed.
And then home. Feels like we have achieved a decent amount today, albeit all quite mundane. Tomorrow I need to tackle the even more mundane job of changing the bed and doing a bit of housework!
In the post today, our exemption for the car from import duty, so we can go ahead and get it transferred to an Irish registration plate.
