Chrysanthemum

Sitting in the sunshine.

Today was May Day Bank Holiday, the last day of the Waterway Festival, and wonder of wonders, we had wall to wall sunshine all day. We've all been waiting for the sun to shine for so long, we all positively revelled in it. Everyone wandered around, relaxed and warm. Dads sat outside the pub, pint in hand. Kids ran around, ice creams in hand. Mums followed on, wet wipes in hand. Everyone seemed more relaxed. Life seemed more carefree. Colours seemed brighter. And everyone seemed to enjoy the final day of the festival even more now that the sun was finally shining. From all of the photos I took today, I thought this one of Grandmother and Grandson sitting in the sun on their narrow boat deck best reflected the sunny, colourful atmosphere of the day.
