Kendal Wool Gathering

Lured into the Town Hall by posters of the Wool Gathering. I've bought a yarn hooking kit to make a sheep picture (don't hold your breath). Outside in the high street were several breeds of sheep in pens. These delightful Ouessants (originally from the Isle de'Ouessant off Brittany)  are the smallest breed of sheep in the world. You can see a regular size sheep in the pen behind them.  Apparently they produce excellent fleece with a long wool staple and sweet tasting meat. They are very cute and make good pets.
