Newby blossom
A day on the road. We travelled down to Newby Hall near Ripon to deliver three of Ellen's sculptures which will form part of the summer exhibition there.
As we crossed the border, the sun came out to set up a glorious afternoon. Newby was very busy - a day for family picnics. And so many pairs of shorts around.
We couldn't stay long and were allowed a peep into the gardens. It was just wonderful - magnolias, camellias, fruit blossom and rhodos. Eventually decided on this shot because of the distinctive colours.
Looking forward to a return trip in the summer to see the sculptures in situ and when it might be a bit quieter.
Drove back through some Yorkshire dales and the clouds greeted us as we neared home. Maybe I just imagined that.
