Preparing for the voyage

Back blipping due to lack of PC/internet while away.

Today Nick and I got up bright and early and set off for Southampton. His mum and stepdad, who own a boat down there, were running later than expected so we spent some time in Southampton. I'd never explored the city before. When we arrived, we had a new rigid inflatable boat (RIB) to set up. Here's Nick pumping up one side - I pumped up the other. Then we took it for a row around the river estuary but it turns out I'm not too good at coordinating rowing and went round in circles.

The boat was luxurious - we had a proper bed in a proper bedroom (nothing else fitted in the room, but still) and the world's tiniest bathroom. Because of how late Nick's parents turned up, we didn't go anywhere Saturday night, just got prepared and explored the marina.
