Sleeping Duck
I decided to stop by my local park this evening to visit with the few remaining ducks that live there. I arrived shortly before sunset, and most of the flock was asleep on the river bank. I noticed that this hybrid Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos) was peaking. He soon went back to sleep when he realized that I was not a threat, and I did not have any food. I believe this duck is a male because he has the two curly tail feathers that females lack.
