While we slept...

Sometime during the night with the extra hour, as we slept, the wind found a weakness in the willow up by the study.   When I walked up there this morning, a big branch was lying across the path, though it was still (just about) attached to the tree. 

The greens of the leaves (many of which have been blown off in the last few days ) and the whiteness of the exposed wood make an interesting contrast though.
