Life in a Northern Town

Jack o’ Lanterns

We were talking with some friends last night about how when we were kids there were no pumpkins around so we carved swedes - goodness knows how. Today I spotted a swede lantern - as suspected, not hollowed out as that’d require a chainsaw.

We called to Kirkstall Abbey for the monthly greyhound meet up - I got my fix of neck scritches, tummy tickles and ear rubs. We then embarked on an urban geocaching trail around some of the parts of Headingley where sticking your hand into dark hidey-holes was most inadvisable. When we were two miles from the car, the heavens opened so we arrived back like drowned rats. We did stop for some volcano cookies so it wasn’t all bad.
