Catching the rain

We enjoyed a longer walk from our house this morning, climbing up to the farmsteads almost on top of the ridge, after a lazy 'clock-change' start to the day. The route goes across a series of stiles over high stone walls with the fields varying between grazing land and crops. In one field I initially mistook a large collection of fungi for fallen leaves. Some, like this one, had small pools of water in them, presumably for the fairies.
Shortly after our return home there was a heavy rain shower, which seemed to arrive out of nowhere, since the sun had just appeared for the first time since Friday.
