The rut
Backblip
We waited till after rush hour before leaving my Mum. We’ve had a great family time, it was lovely to be together.
I’ve always wanted to go to Bushy Park and seeing as we did not have to get the car back till 2.30pm we just about had enough time to pop in for a quick visit. It was slow going due to traffic jams and narrow streets once we had left the motorways.
We went for a quick walk looking at the ducks and geese on the pond and then on the search for some deer. It did not take us long to find some young bucks and then a huge stag defending his harem.
We stood and watched as he challenged other stags. He chased one through the bracken , winning easily.
The young bucks were practice fighting which was impressive as well.
Mike grabbed a coffee while I photographed the Egyptian geese and squirrels.
We got the car back at 2.25pm so perfect timing.
Our flight was not until 7 pm so we had a slow walk through the airport. No queue at security and we did not have to have anything checked.
We had a relaxing meal in The Big Smoke. Finishing with a trio of icecream.
A good flight back in just over the hour. Richard picked us up and took us home, which was a great help as it would have taken us a couple of hours at least if we had gone by bus.
