Art for Art Sake

I needn't have worried. I got to the Anvil with a minimum of fuss last night and 10cc were magnificent, playing all the old favourites and one or two new songs. What is truly amazing is that they kept the audience fully entertained for more than two hours with Graham Gouldman (aged 76), Paul Burgess (aged 72), Rick Fenn (aged 69), Keith Hayman (aged 65) and the youngster Iain Hornel (42) never showing any signs of flagging. I truly don't know how they do it, especially as last night was the last concert of a 25 night tour.  Gouldman, the only original member of 10cc left in the band, seemed to be enjoying himself, still singing I'm Not in Love  and Wall Street Shuffle 45 years on; songs that have certainly stood the test of time.
