Singing In The Rain Sotto Voce

Ollie dog and I got soaked on our morning walk. This robin perched on an elder branch is singing to us very quietly whilst hardly opening its beak. Its throat can be seen straining under its plumage. This is known as the sub song. It could be a young adult learning its repertoire or it might be starting to establish its territory.
