Under a watchful eye
Visited Bourton-on-the-Water's historic Grade II-listed miniature village today - along with the hordes! Thousands descended on the ever-so pretty Cotswolds village as we were blessed with such lovely warmth for a Bank Holiday Monday. But it has to be said that we just could not hack the crowds and so sought solace in the countryside just a few hundred feet from the village centre. It was like visiting the seaside. Hundreds of families squeezed on the green sides of the River Windrush, where tots and youngsters played in the safe river. After a quick mooch around the miniature village we headed off to walk in the woods up on the Fosse Way. And then we dropped down to Broadway for a very civilized cup of tea and cake. The driving was as pleasurable as the mooching. A lovely day out.
