Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2022 Saturday — Transition Day

Our goal was to leave early; so we were both out of bed at 4:00 a.m. Most of my stuff was packed the night before but I don’t move with much speed at that early hour. Finally at 6:00 a.m. our vehicle rolled us away from the house in a southerly direction.

We clocked the usual 4 hours from front door to front door. The morning was black with darkness. As we traveled Hwy 101 through the farm country of Nipomo, Santa Maria, Orcutt we encountered fog. The first sight of sunshine came as we reached the coast at Gaviota north of Santa Barbara.

We’ve been gone from SoCal for 4 months and 3 days. Entirely too long and that was never our plan. Backyard construction kept us on the Central Coast.

When we arrived at our SoCal place everything, thankfully, was in good shape. We are relearning where everything is located and the pups are also getting reacquainted with the place. I think the day was very exhausting for them. The photo of Mitzi sprawled out and snoozing is my evidence. They do sleep some as we travel, but the transition is stressful for them.

The photo of the women riding their horses past the back of our house was a good example of how our scenery has changed. Both women seem to be completely focused on their phones. Crazy!

That was our final Saturday in October — lots of miles and plenty of excitement.

Good night from
Southern California,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
