Rootes Planner 2

Today's images are an update to a previous blip on 15/04/2021. This is the old Art Deco style Rootes car showroom and workshops in Maidstone that are being converted into apartments, shops and restaurants.
My previous blip showed the building before work had started and I have been increasingly concerned over the last 18 months as it looked as though work had stopped altogether and it seemed to be deteriorating quickly. Thankfully work has now restarted, although it appears there is a long and hard road ahead (see extra).
My main image shows the building's tower wrapped in plastic sheeting and scaffolding with a billboard on the street showing an artist's impression of what the finished project should look like - although the fella in the blue jacket who was walking towards me stopped to say "I wonder if it's actually going to look like that". He appeared to have his doubts!
