Mondays

The day started fairly gently.. just enjoying my coffee when I heard a noise like someone sweeping the window with a broom in the other room.. weird! Dismissed it thinking it might have been the gardener doing something outside.. but a few minutes later I heard it again and had to investigate.. nothing.. well, it is halloween so before my imagination went too far I had to check my husband was in the office and not making weird noises.  It was then that he looked out of the window and could see a bird trapped in our playroom window.. turned out to be a partridge!  After a little carfuffle I managed to catch it on the windowsill where it tried to knock over two rather nice turkish pots!!  Having got a good hold of it I took it outside and let it fly off which it did happily and landed at the far end of the garden next to a pigeon and a squirrel where it stopped for a breather.  Having gone to inspect any other damage I noticed my geranium had been knocked off the windowsill and had been rather broken so I have taken a few cuttings and saved the flowers.  They really are pretty and I hope the partridge may have made me a few more plants for next year!!
It is getting dark as I type at just ten to four.. oh boo 
Awaiting a delivery of wood today.. .hope he comes soon
