Fires

Today was a fine, sun-soaked day....one of the very first this year...and yet, I still managed to find reasons to stay in most of the day and cultivate a finely tuned vitamin D deficiency.....a bad habit which I must get out of. Excuse me while I go and WHACK! myself on the hand quite hard....
I did eventually manage to rouse myself and headed up to Harrogate landmark the Stray. There, as the sun started to melt into the western horizon, I found gaggles of what looked like teenagers huddled around embers ..I wondered if they had been sitting around their fires all day, predicting their own futures and those of their friends while the improvised flames slowly turned into pale white smoke....
