Proper Foggy

I can't recall a year when we experienced fog such as this. Previously I would say we had one or two occasions, usually in the autumn, when there had been a misty morning and even then confined to the lake.

But today there was actual dense fog and on land as well. I thought at first I should have taken a longer lens to compress distances and enhance the fogginess of the images, but even that was not necessary and the standard lens worked out ok.

As I walked, the sun began to rise and burn through giving a wonderful glow in the sky. I tried to get some of that impression in my image, but I'm not sure I succeeded. My memory was of a more pinkish warmth coming from behind the trees on the right.

Wonderfully atmospheric.
