Shaggy Scalycap?
Gales and torrential rain overnight and throughout the morning. When I was rubbing the soaking spaniel down with a towel after our morning walk I discovered that he had lost his collar (not to be out done by my lost lens cap at the weekend). So, for the afternoon walk, we retraced our morning route as best we could. Unfortunately I couldn't locate the collar so will have to buy a new one. But I did find these intriguing fungi. I believe that they are either Shaggy Scalycap (Pholiota squarrosa) or a form of Honey Fungus (Armillaria species), but only a spore print would determine which.
