it's all a matter of balance

Taking the good with the bad, that is.  Or riding a bike no-handed.

Our trip to London has had both.  If you saw Anniemay's blip for yesterday, you'll know that our hotel room was small.  So small that we had to get into bed one at a time.

This morning we had a great breakfast at a bike cafe called 'look mum no hands.  We had breakfast there because the hotel doesn't do breakfast. Or anything nutritious, for that matter.  Not even a kettle in the bedroom.  (No room).

The cafe is amazing - full of old school bike stuff.  Perfect for an old-school bike rider like me.  No carbon fibre; mainly steel with a few aluminium frames.

Then we walked round the corner to tackle the main reason we'd come to London; for a visa, so we could go to Dan's wedding in India in December.  See Anniemay's blip for today.

Despite the queue, thanks to her fastidious planning, we were in an out within an hour (a record according to Dan.  Some of his friends had been queuing for 5 hours).

It's been stressful, because if for any reason we'd been delayed, or there was a problem with our application (and people were being turned away ) there are no more free appointments until next year. So we'd miss the wedding.

By way of unwinding, I found a guitar shop not far from the visa centre.  The manager let me play one.  Perfect end to the day.
