THE LIZARD KING

While ball hunting at Vistoso Golf Course,
I discovered this Horned Lizard.
He's only the second one I've seen.
Not surprising, when you see how well he's camouflaged.

I've heard he can inflate his body to twice its size.
Making him, literally, hard to swallow.

See those flat, dagger-like horns,
The ones popping up from the back of his head?
That's his crown. and in my world
He who wears a crown, must be King.

Tech details:
With a foursome coming up behind us,
I fast, fast, grabbed my camera from the golf cart, and
Knelt down on the grass near the little guy.
Not close enough to scare him. but
Close enough to see eye to eye. Sorta.
Then 2 clicks, 2 shots.

We're here to play golf, after all.
