First Quarter Moon

The day flew by, and I realized that I still needed an image for today’s blip. The sky was clear tonight, so I decided to photograph the moon again. This resulting handheld image of the First Quarter moon with 53% illumination was created on November 1, 2022 at 9:53pm EDT.

A total lunar eclipse will take place on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at approximately 3:00am EST. I will photograph this event if the skies are clear. I missed the last one on May 15, 2022 because of a thunderstorm. The next total lunar eclipse will happen on March 14, 2025.
