Eccup Reservoir walk

Today we walked around Eccup Reservoir (3.7 miles) the first time in ages. This route has been closed for about 6 months due to tree felling work. The start of our walk had a wintery feel as we crossed a farmers field facing into a brisk breeze and crossed mud and puddles. The path close to the reservoir is sheltered and usually akin to walking alongside a lake with the sound of the water lapping close by. Despite plenty of recent rainfall the reservoir water level remains very low.

We walked early today before the forecasted strong winds, certainly felt a shift in the seasons.
