Taking shape

A little more progress.

The back wall is now built,clear of the garden wall.

On the left there are new retaining walls to hold the garden in place - the original were stone, and we're hoping that something stone faced will be put in place.... The gap will be steps into the garden.

On the right out of shot there will need to be some more retaining walls built to stop that side from slumping into the space.

There will be enough space to park a small car between the gate and the bike shed, which is fine with us as we don't have a car, so it's not important. In theory you could park a larger car if we didn't have a bike shed, but as the lane is so narrow, you wouldn't actually be able to maneuver it in or out the gate, so it's a bit of a moot point.
