The female Mute Swan stands alone by the lower lochan at Inverness Campus, whilst tragically her mate lies dead in the water nearby. He'd been noticed by others to be unwell yesterday, and may be a victim of avian flu.

There's also a dead Black-headed Gull lying in the upper lochan.
