Magnificent Erection

I've never seen a crane being put together before. It was fascinating. 

The road was closed off for some hours while they put the various pieces together. The hairiest part was when the main crossmember was lifted into position, across the road and the flats opposite. Good job the chains didn't break.

And so the monstrosity that is being built opposite my urbanisation is beginning to take shape. Heaven knows how long it will take, but I estimate years rather than months.
