Condemned. I drove by Cockenzie Power Station yesterday to see signs directing contractors to the"Demolition Site". When these twin smoke stacks come down they will be missed. Does anyone know the date for their demolition?

Despite the slight sea haze in this blip, today has dawned, and continues as a perfect early summer one. No wind. Real warmth in the sunshine. Too bad it arrived 24 hours too late for all yesterday's Bank Holidaymakers.

Yesterday's birthday BBQ became a North Berwick tapas pavement table lunch and was an equally enjoyable occasion. The walk on Direlton Beach was great fun, too, especially as we got the kite to fly right to the end of its windy tether!
