It's been a busy day today, tying up all the loose ends in work ready for a week off at home. I realised today that bizarrley I will miss work. I am fortunate to have a job that I enjoy and work with people that I respect. Maybe I'd feel different if wasn't at the beginning of some time off but I feel a certain gratitude all the same!

Took a five minute detour to the prom this evening on the way to buying present-for-son's-friend's-birthday-party-tomorrow. I love the feeling of space and the freshness of the air. Sometimes the oil refinery on the other side of the water seems very far away. Today it seemed much closer and I liked the way the light softened it somehow.
