It’s That Time of Year

Hubby and I are both reading books we really like. We stayed up way too late reading last night. We woke up early to feed kitties and clean up their mess but fell back asleep until after 9:00! We ate a quick breakfast. Hubby took our trash to the convenience center while I did laundry/dishes. I saw this dew laden spider web over by my she shed. God blessed us with another perfect Autumn day. We got busy outside. Hubby is still out there cutting the lawn but I have had it (11K steps.). We planted way too much liriope in way too many gardens 20 years ago and it has taken over. Every spring, I used to individually prune each plant careful not to damage the new growth. My sister suggested we weed whack it in the fall after it blooms. That has literally saved me weeks of work. As hubby cut them, I cleaned up the mess or prepared the next bed for him (raking out leaves mostly.). We had little green shoots everywhere. I got as much up as possible then he blew the small stuff off the driveway and patios. Gosh, we accomplished so much. Hubby started disassembling and cleaning the fountains. I put away patio furniture. We still have to trim the front flower garden, formal garden out back and a small area by the gazebo. Glad Brooklyn has a soccer game tomorrow so we can take a break. We’ll get back out there on Monday. Thanks for stopping by, leaving “gifts.” Hopefully I will get to your journals tonight. Stay safe and well folks. “I cannot endure to waste anything as precious autumn sunshine by staying in the house.  So I spend almost all the daylight hours in the open air.” - Nathaniel Hawthorn
