The Thames

Staying with friends in Putney for a couple of days.

Enjoyed a walk on Putney Heath, coffee at the windmill on Putney & Wimbledon Commons then a bus ride down to Putney Bridge.
Walked over the Bridge to Fulham, picnic lunch in the warm sunshine and walked to Fulham Palace (free to visit) then back along the Thames.

Loved our day in sunny London and enjoyed the mix of being in the countryside, in earshot of a busy A road, planes flying overhead on their way to/ from Heathrow and the hustle and bustle too. I’d forgotten what a mix London is.

Also forgot how unfriendly people are when out for walks in parkland and country paths, unlike home in the Midlands where the vast majority at least nod, smile or say hello in the passing.

After dinner, we enjoyed playing scrabble and boggle with our hosts.
And now it’s time to sleep….
