Tunnels

Feeling kind of deep for this one, developed a little metaphor walking through the subway station tunnels on the way back from work.

Life is just a series of tunnels. We're constantly in many different tunnels at the same time: Some are short, some are long, some are forcing us to take lots of steps up somewhere, expending lots of effort, some are easy going down stairs, and some just go on flat for a while. Most of the time you can't see that light at the end of the tunnel, and it becomes a question of whether you should keep moving ahead or just give up and head back. I feel like I'm in only long tunnels these days, but ones that if I can get to the end will be incredibly worth it.
