A quick dekko

Surprised by a good day today, after a wet start. We took the car down town, expecting rain, but it got gradually better. Usual Saturday stuff - fish from the pier, books from the library, newspaper from Tesco, chat with the odd friend. 

Mr Deck Man back again this morning and glad to discard his waterproof quite early on! Good to see progress - reconstruction beginning. Makes a nice change to have a contractor on site who doesn't have his radio on all the time - instead we had an afternoon cuppa and discussed evolution!

Began to bring some of my more tender potted plants into the greenhouse. It's unheated, but will give some protection to a few of my specials. Last winter some of my rare ferns from Robinson Crusoe Island - Thyrsopteris elegans - got blasted by the wind, so they'll be better off inside. Maybe next year I'll find a sheltered spot for them outside.
