Triton Fountain

In search of tea bags we discovered this really close to where we are staying. How amazing.

Earlier we visited the richly ornate St John’s Co-Cathedral. The history and the power of the Noble families, the Knights and the Grand Masters was incredible.

But, anyone else listening to ‘The Archers’ ? It currently has a storyline where a wealthy village family wants to donate a a stained glass church window in honour of their family… and the vicar is uncomfortable and is finally objecting. This is what happened here and everywhere in the past. Funded by wars and slavery huge extravagant monuments to remember influential and wealthy individuals were built. Magnificent though they are I (and most of us I’m sure) am now so aware of the other cruel side of the story…
