Milton of Redcastle

We went to Milton of Redcastle this afternoon to walk through the castle grounds and onto one of the many walks in the Estate grounds. The hamlet, as it is too small to be a village and has no shops, is situated at the west end of the Beauly Firth on the north side. It is on the Black Isle, but on the south coast of the Black Isle. I hope you get my drift. The hamlet is beautiful just now with all the cut roadside grass and village sign and beautiful spring flowers everywhere. This is all done by the villagers themselves who also take a great pride in there gardens and the hamlet. This is also where Sammy the Squirrel lives. Hope to catch more of him soon . Also teems with bird life on the shore and in the Firth!
