Sweet spot

The perky, vocal catbirds love jelly as the glistening drop on this one's beak shows. I didn't have their favorite flavor, grape, but raspberry seemed just fine.

The birds are busy, the baby squirrel appeared earlier than usual AND I saw a HUMMINGBIRD from a distance at one of the feeders!!!!! Mr. Sharpie, or an new boy on the block, perhaps. He didn't return as I sat and waited so my bet is a new bird, but we'll see. Seeing one at the feeder again brought tears to my eyes I must admit. I'm an old softie and they are my favorite of favorite birds.

This day came in warm and beautiful . Nora , my maternal grandmother, was born 120 years ago today and I've also been thinking of beloved blipper, Molly who left us with her last blip today in 2011. Many of us think of her everyday and try to extend the warmth she showered on us when we were new around here. I miss you Molly .
