Sally Mair - Loving life

Excitement

Busy day today, Colin went to his mum's for a couple of days.
K and J were both working so she dropped the girls off at 8am. A and Josie came over at 10 to help with the girls as I was going to a funeral! Phew.
Poor K, the morning started badly. She got to her car at 7.45 ready to set out with the girls and the mountain of 'stuff' they'd decided they needed, to find she'd a puncture. She had to call a taxi for her and the girls and was going to get another to get to the hospital from here. I did a quick change(ie got dressed) and threw all of them into my car and drove them up. If Colin hadn't been away she could have had my car but she's not insured on his for some reason so couldn't do that.
I organised lunch so it was all ready for A to finish preparing as I felt three children, including a one year old, was almost a step too far.... and headed off for the funeral.
It was a very good funeral, the lady had been in her 90s, so although the family were sad it was not unexpected. I used to visit her in her house, and later her nursing home, and take communion to her. Lovely to see her grandchildren taking active parts, lots of good hymns and other music. I think they can feel comforted and be happy that they did their best for her.
All was well when I got home again, if a trifle lively! Isobel had been picked up by the dad of one of her friends to go to the Gang Show. We couldn't manage that too! Eilidh had her nose in a book and Josie was having a great time playing in her playpen. When Eilidh went home, A and I both joined Josie in spending the time in an afternoon nap.
I had a sore stomach when I woke so decided, once I was on my own again I'd just go to bed. I must have needed it as I slept right through till the morning. Feeling better now, thank goodness.
My blip today is the only picture I took, but no less perfect for that! It's Isobel's writing, her words but copied as she is only just 6. I was so impressed by the size and neatness of her letters, and only one reversal.
They had just done an interest badge about Elsie Inglis at Rainbows and when she told me, I mentioned her mum had been born there. She was so excited and said she needed to write that down at once so that she could tell her rainbow leader because it was so important. So she did. I reckon she should be getting a badge for knowing how to record and pass on facts!
