Worth

We attended a service at Worth Church this morning. A close friend of ours died during lockdown so was unable to have a funeral. He was a minister at Worth when he died, and previously at other churches in the area. This morning’s service was in thanksgiving for his life and ministry. The little church was full and the service was a fitting tribute. His widow Christine was pleased to have many friends to join her on this special occasion. Wine and nibbles served afterwards gave people a chance to recall stories about Roger. We didn’t know anybody, but they were very friendly.
Roger was one of the group of six “boys” that Norman has known from childhood. Now Norman is the only one left.
We had a horrendous journey to get there with torrential rain on the motorway, most unpleasant. The journey took twice as long as it should have, and we arrived only just in time.
