Time for lunch
A bitty day today with some pottering around and small somethings achieved. Ran out of frame mastic, so that'll be on the shopping list for tomorrow.
Took H out for lunch up the loch and we had excellent venison burgers with "gourmet" chips. In other words, the potatos hadn't been peeled before being chipped. To my mind, the more preparation that goes into the food, the more likely it is to be "gourmet".
Was slightly mischievious by asking the kitchen to cook my burger "to a core temperature of 75 degrees when measured with a recently-calibrated, tip-sensitive probe thermometer" ...
The two old chaps in the background were having a fascinating conversation about Scottish history which, to be honest, didn't cast the Campbells in the best light.
We have appointments with the dentist in Oban tomorrow afternoon, but not enough fuel in the car to safely get me there. That means I'll have to run into Lochgilphead to refuel, and it's the opposite direction. However, there's a book waiting for me at the bookshop and I can try to get hold of more frame mastic while I'm there, so it won't be a wasted journey.
