La gare de Javel
This is the entry for the Javel station on the RER C and Metro line 10. Although it is meant to look like a Chinese pagoda, it was designed by French architect Juste Lisch (1828-1910) in 1900. This was part of an expansion of the local rail system at the time of the Paris Exposition of 1900 and the station was initially called the "Pont Mirabeau" station after the bridge that it sits on. "Eau de Javel" = bleach, and this is the spot that bleach was discovered and manufactured, since 1774 (thank you, Wikipedia!)
As you can see, it was a grey and rainy day. We went out to do a little shopping but otherwise stayed close to home to work, read, and crochet.
