The Duomo in afternoon light

Lunch in Florence with the Montebenso’s. Lovely to see them. Was brisk sitting outside at the Quattro Leone. Florence still surprisingly busy. After the narrow crowded streets the sheer expanse and mass of the Duomo, glittering in the super-clear air brought down from the Atlantic, was a surprise, un coup de theatre.
