Pound Pup

We brought Sparkle (named by the kids after one pocket veto of “Spring Flower”) home from the pound six years ago. I picked her based on three criteria: she wasn’t barking; she wasn’t banging up against the cage; and when I walked her, she didn’t try to run. The pound knew nothing about her other than that they had picked her up off the street. She hadn’t been spayed and weighed 30 pounds. Sparkle has been a member of our family for seven years. She’s a little grayer now and a bit less active, but she still follows me from room-to-room hoping for petting and belly rubs. I hope we’ve given her a good life.
