Godolphin House

After a wet and windy start to the day, we decided that a walk in the woods or sheltered place would be best, so we found a local NT place that seemed to have some estate walks and headed there. Luckily, we’d picked the week when the house was open (only one week in four - the rest of the time it’s rented out as a very large holiday home - I hate to think how much it would cost!). The house has a very chequered history and was quite interesting to hear about, plus we had a nice walk around the surrounding fields with Bailey, and the ubiquitous coffee and scone in the small cafe. And best of all, no rain and sheltered from the wind!

We’re now back at the house wondering if it will stay standing overnight - a bit of an exaggeration but it is mighty windy and very open around here.
