Interesting and thought provoking

We passed this eye catching work of art. Google can elaborate much better than I can!

The artists Nuno Alecrim and Doutros Tipos carried out an Urban Art intervention in the ventilation station of the Lisbon Metro, under the motto “Whose World Is This”. A challenge in the form of a question that the two artists propose to ask anyone who passes by the Metro ventilation station in Marquês de Pombal.
” During the Covid-19 pandemic we found ourselves surrounded by emptiness. Places that were once crowded were invaded by a deafening silence. While we all hid within our walls of security, the outer walls remained covered in layers of meaning.
As we emerged from confinement, a new layer of chaos descended upon us. Many things we took for granted have been taken away from us—first our freedom of movement, then our ability to believe in a better future.
History does nothing but repeat itself. Chaos is a visible form of patterns that we don't yet recognize. Ownership is a concept that promises stability and peace in the world, where ownership is the mantra of the general public. However, property is what divides us into the haves and have-nots and forces us to compete with one another.
At the end of the day, it feels like we should belong to something. But, first of all, we must ask ourselves: what really belongs to us? Whose world is this?”
